State and Local Government

Though many states provide great freedoms for homeschoolers, curfews, attendance laws and other restrictive policies can threaten those freedoms.

Many issues affecting education and specifically, homeschoolers, are governed at the state and local levels. For example, state laws set compulsory school attendance requirements while daytime curfews are usually part of a city or county ordinance.
